I would be so pleased to see you at Pete's Candy Store in Williamsburg this coming Sunday, June 3rd. I go on at 10:30. I know it's a school night, but it's nice to shake things up every once in a while, no? Another incentive is that Heyward Howkins from The Trouble with Sweeney plays right before me, and oh man, will he get you in the mood to hear some music! Adam D. Gold, Clint Newman, and Bob van Pelt are joining me again on stage. I am a lucky bird.
Pete's Candy Store is located at 709 Lorimer Street.
Come celebrate the release of this puppy (Fear the Dream of Axes, that is) on Tuesday, July 31st at the Living Room on the Lower East Side in Manhattan! If you're one of those who actually still buys a cd, I will undoubtedly feel compelled to kiss you on the cheek, if you're ok with it, of course.
That's right. It's official. Fear the Dream of Axes can be yours on July 31st, all thanks to Bar/None Records!
Record release party to be announced any day now, and in the meantime, we sure hope you can visit Pete's Candy Store on Sunday, June 3rd. It would be a dream if you could get there in time to see Heyward Howkins' set around 9 pm. We should be on by 10:30.
Have I thanked all of you who came to our show at the Mercury Lounge last Monday? Thank you. You made getting back on stage a thrill. Your support means so very much.
Love,
Shan
Dear friends,
As many of you know, my new record, Fear the Dream of Axes, is coming out on Bar/None in July. The record perhaps can best be described as a menacing collection of twelve songs straight from the depths of my dark heart. But I digress. The time has come for me to get back on the show-playin' horse, and needless to say, it's been a while. I would love to see you at the Mercury Lounge (map) on Monday, May 7th. It's an early show, 7 pm, which you could fashion into a delightful after-work affair if you were so inclined.
The endlessly talented Adam D Gold, Clint Newman, and Bob van Pelt have generously agreed to make an honest band out of me. We'll be playing mostly songs from the new record, and would love to look out on friendly and supportive faces. You needn't do anything to convey your support other than attend.
Love,
Shan
